"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THIS IS CRAZY!", laughing out loud to the movie Vampire Sucks while crunching on freshly popped popcorn! "Why is Jacob a dog!! HAHAHA!" saying while raising my arms up! "bam" tuning my head to my poor popcorn, they are all on the floor. Feeling a little displeased with myself, I bent down to scoop them back into my bowl after producing a long sigh. Under the coffee table and sofa, they are literally everywhere. Just when I was wondering how long I need to finish clearing before the ants attack them because they are extra sweet with extra honey, the door flung open behind me.
"Yukari, I'm back." Acknowleging the gentle voice, I automatically swing my head to it. I looked at him. No. I studied him carefully. He seemed to be really confused for the way I stare at him. Well, I cannot blame him for that. I am on the floor with popcorn everywhere and there were even some sticking onto my hair. After a long awkward staring moment, he started calling my name. "Winter is coming soon, do you.. no! Will you feel cold?" I asked with a awkward smile, not knowing if my question sounded stupid to a demon. Like seriously! I am a vampire. I am not a demon, how would the hell I know right.
Haji smiled with soft giggle that I swear I heard them and said "Demons are cold creatures, we are not made to feel anything." After listening to his reply, I felt kind of sad for him. Anyway he really need a new set of clothes to wear. He has been wearing my oversize tee for almost a month already. All the Rilakuma, Mickey and Minnie graphic tees make him look cute at first but now it is just pure stupid. Not to mention, his demonic outfit he wore when he first appear can never be wore in public, my neighbours will definitely call the police. "Nevermind! You are coming with me anyway because I need to get new winter clothes." smiling like a idiot after saying that phrase.
As I start to pull myself up to a standing position without accidentally knocking onto anything, I notice a grocery bag in his hand and immediately blurt out "What are you cooking tonight?" with a smile as bright as the halo of the angle. I can feel my wall crushing down on me when he said lasagne. This would be the 13th time he cooked lasagne. Come on! I know I said it is delicious but that was like the first time when you cooked it. After 12th time he cooked it, I feel like I can start banging my head on the wall.
"Haji! Do you have any other dish you want to try cooking?" hoping not to hurt his feelings. "No? Why? Yukari, you don't like it? Is it horrible? I won't cook it again if you said so." After saying that, he eyes gleam like a puppy dog. I feel really bad now. "NO! IT IS ABSOUTELY DELICIOUS! I LOVE TO EAT IT EVERY DAY!" as soon as the words leave my mouth, I regretted. "Alright, I will cook it everyday." while leaving for the kitchen with a satisfying smile. Sometimes I really wonder did him knew first hand that I am weak towards puppy eyes and is why he keep doing that. Next time I should buy grocery before he does and cook it beforehand, I tell myself silently.

Chapter 7 - All On My Own
Strolling down the path with dried autumn leaves under my feet, I realized that winter is on the way. I wish I could say the cold never bothered me anyway like how Elsa sang in the movie Frozen but no.. I am terribly afraid of the cold. Unlike other living vampires that I know, I can feel cold just like every other human being. That is why I enrolled in a human school instead of a vampire school. Sometimes I really hate how human-like I am. I want to be like a normal vampire. I want my staple food to be blood. I want to be able to heal straight away if I get any cut or wounds. I want to be like them but I can't.
Before my parents died ten years ago, my parents made me study in a vampire school. And of course, they cannot named it the vampire school publicly, the human would not allow them to. They called it School of The Young Harvards and that is what the human address the school. We vampires call it School of The Young Vampires. Trust me! Being in that school is a nightmare! Everyone there is so damn smart just like Mr Peabody! Unlike human, Vampires have amazing memory because they are all dead. Nothing in them moves and so nothing get the brain to forget. Not only that, they have eyesight that can capture images better than DSLR. And not to forget, they don't forget anything. So they can simply remember every single detail in that book just by flipping it through once. Once is enough to remember the slight tear on page 452 and a coffee stain in page 763.
When I was in that school, studying was like chasing a sun. How am I suppose to catch up! We finish 3 history book, each as thick as a bible in just a day. My vampire classmates will be like "woo.. that's nothing!", and I will be like "what! I only finish 5 pages!!". Further more we have 10 subject each day. Can you imagine? That is how the vampire world works.
That was not the worst. What was even worst was I have to run away from all those crazy little vampire because I don't particular smell like vampire to them, I smell like human so they all wanna get a piece of me! I hate it so much! I hate to hide in a corner eating my lunch, so afraid to become their lunch. So when my parents passed away, my uncle gave me two choices. The first one was to stay with his family in Massachusetts and live as a part of their family.
I chose the second one which is to go my own way. All on my own.
