Chapter 7 - All On My Own

Strolling down the path with dried autumn leaves under my feet, I realized that winter is on the way. I wish I could say the cold never bothered me anyway like how Elsa sang in the movie Frozen but no.. I am terribly afraid of the cold. Unlike other living vampires that I know, I can feel cold just like every other human being. That is why I enrolled in a human school instead of a vampire school. Sometimes I really hate how human-like I am. I want to be like a normal vampire. I want my staple food to be blood. I want to be able to heal straight away if I get any cut or wounds. I want to be like them but I can't.

Before my parents died ten years ago, my parents made me study in a vampire school. And of course, they cannot named it the vampire school publicly, the human would not allow them to. They called it School of The Young Harvards and that is what the human address the school. We vampires call it School of The Young Vampires. Trust me! Being in that school is a nightmare! Everyone there is so damn smart just like Mr Peabody! Unlike human, Vampires have amazing memory because they are all dead. Nothing in them moves and so nothing get the brain to forget. Not only that, they have eyesight that can capture images better than DSLR. And not to forget, they don't forget anything. So they can simply remember every single detail in that book just by flipping it through once. Once is enough to remember the slight tear on page 452 and a coffee stain in page 763.

When I was in that school, studying was like chasing a sun. How am I suppose to catch up! We finish 3 history book, each as thick as a bible in just a day. My vampire classmates will be like "woo.. that's nothing!", and I will be like "what! I only finish 5 pages!!". Further more we have 10 subject each day. Can you imagine? That is how the vampire world works.

That was not the worst. What was even worst was I have to run away from all those crazy little vampire because I don't particular smell like vampire to them, I smell like human so they all wanna get a piece of me! I hate it so much! I hate to hide in a corner eating my lunch, so afraid to become their lunch. So when my parents passed away, my uncle gave me two choices. The first one was to stay with his family in Massachusetts and live as a part of their family.

I chose the second one which is to go my own way. All on my own.
